For a long time, video marketing and televison commercials went hand-in-hand. Not anymore. These days, it seems like there is an infinite number of ways you can utilize video in a digital marketing campaign.
In my last post I talked things you can do to help your video get more attention online – this time, I’m going to take a look at the various types of video you can use in your digital marketing.
First, we have to talk about the importance of video in digital marketing. Some people, like me, actually enjoying reading content on the Internet. However, many more do not. In fact, some are estimating that by 2020 82% of ALL Internet traffic will be streaming video content. On Facebook, video views doubled from April 2015 to November 2015 from 4 billion to 8 billion.
Now that we know why video is an important part of a digital campaign, let’s look at the different types of video you can utilize:
Testimonials - considered the most effective type of video content. They’re great for building trust in potential customers, but only if they are genuine. Few things are more off-putting than a forced, fake testimonial.
Demos – a great way to show off a product or service you offer in an intimate, controlled setting.
“How To” or Explainer - can be used to answer questions about a product or demonstrate a more confusing aspect of how it works. Do some research first to find out what issues, if any, customers/potential customers are having.
Interviews – opens the door and lets potential customers see the faces and culture of your company or even an expert in the industry. Great for building trust!
Video Blog – regular video blog installments can be used in a variety ways, but most often they’re educational. Video blogs can really boost credibility with potential customers, and when done right, can be very entertaining.
Event Videos - Want to show off your company and/or what you do? Put together an awesome highlight video that will show what you’re all about. Here’s an example of one we recently put together for a client.
